Towards Conscious Education

Nurturing visionary edupreneurs for a conscious future

Creating a dynamic community of conscious and engaged edupreneurs

Towards Conscious Education

The future of education is the future of the human race and the future of the human race is much beyond literacy, certificates and academic qualifications. Education today is steadily being pushed towards developing the capacities of self-enquiry, creativity and original thinking. This calls for a different approach to learning and a different role of a teacher. The traditional teacher and the traditional school will rapidly become obsolete in a wholly wired and digitized world. The learner and the learning will both have to become self-directed and self-managed.

For all this to hang together and function effectively, what will be needed is a dynamic community of conscious and engaged Edupreneurs.

Creating and establishing an alternative school, one that deviates from mainstream thinking, requires deep reflection on the purpose of the school, an understanding of learning principles, a detailed focus on the learning matrix, the design of the physical space, financial acumen, and other core entrepreneurial skills.

The program will guide aspiring Edupreneurs through various stages of establishing such a school through workshops, dialogues, and ongoing support after the workshops.

The program begins by deliberating on the fundamental purpose of a school’s existence and attempts to articulate the rationale behind a school initiative. It then guides participants in identifying stakeholders—those who are impacted by and those who impact the schooling system. Stakeholder mapping helps participants recognize who holds the most influence and how resources can be optimally utilized, thereby supporting the school's overall strategy and planning.

The program delves deeply into what it means to provide holistic education in a school, how to design a curriculum around it, and how to deliver it effectively in the classroom. It emphasizes Integral Education and familiarizes participants with the concepts of physical, vital, mental, and psychic education.

First thirteen years of education and upbringing transpired in the guiding light and inspiration of teachers and facilitators at the Mirambika School, Delhi, Sri Aurobindo Ashram.  Growing up in a free progress, Integral Education environment defined the rest of the terrestrial journey and found precise and clear purpose in whatever one did and is currently doing.

Sixteen years  (1997-2013) in the business-corporate Consulting space gave a wider and a deeper insight into dynamics and interplay of people with systems, processes and business objectives. From following orders and focusing on key result areas (KRAs) to leading teams to achieve goals brought about a sense of clarity in the fact that everything needs to be ‘aligned’, from what one is, one’s innate tendencies, aptitude, interest to what one is doing as ‘work’ . From Svadharma to Svabhava to Karma, all must be aligned as one integral expression of what one is.

In 2013, I made a deliberate and conscious decision to transition into full-time dedication to a lifelong pursuit of education. It became unmistakably clear that if there's one thing truly worthy of wholehearted commitment, it is education—a conviction deeply rooted in my upbringing during the critical first thirteen years of my life. This understanding is akin to the adage 'what one shall sow, that one shall reap.' Despite the challenges posed by government laws, board regulations, and a lack of willingness among some teachers and school leaders to embrace necessary change, working with schools and educators was personally fulfilling. Amidst these challenges, I encountered some individuals with a genuine willingness to make a difference, and the smiles on the faces of the children made it all worthwhile.
