About the event
In many fundamental ways, we are experiencing the most decisive moment in human history. Our identity as a human species is undergoing a technological transformation, from real to artificial and from conscious to smart.
So, where are our children in all this? Where is our education thinking and schooling in all this? Whilst disruption sweeps our world, we as parents, educators, and school leaders firmly remain insulated and fossilized. Integral education encompasses the entirety of human life and the human being. We are at a decisive moment in human history where we must choose between a conscious future and an artificial one.
The talk explores (amongst other agenda that may pop up during the conversation) the following points:
- What does education mean?
- Exploring education from an Indian, yogic, and Dharmic perspective
- An Indian yogic approach to what it means to be human, including possibilities and potential
- Various perspectives on education and a deep dive into the limitations of existing learning paradigms
- The role of an educator, parent, and education leader
- How we can create learning spaces and work towards creating a learning commune
The talk will be organic and largely guided by the need of the moment, dialogue, and questioning. We do not intend to offer any structure or pre-set learning outcomes. Although it is an introduction to education, self-reflection will be crucial, focusing on examining our own beliefs, knowledge, and understanding.
